Huntonstranda / 2018

At Simsand Architects I have participated in the open international ideas competition for Huntonstranda in Gjøvik, Norway. The task was to design a masterplan for a new city development area transforming a previous industrial area into a lively neighborhood by the water. A sustainable approuch with strong connections to the existing city for pedestrians and cyclists. The project creates several new islands to extend the shoreline, it makes beautiful public spaces and at the same time it handles future flooding issues.

Unfortunately the project did not get awarded by the official jury, but in the public vote at the local newspaper, www.oa.no the readers voted my project in as second best out of the 29 proposals. Thank you so much to the people of Gjøvik by giving my proposal an unoffical 2nd prize!
