Frederikshavn Boardwalk / 2018

In a great collaboration with Kaelea Ann Sim Sand I have been awarded with a 3rd prize in an open architectural competition. In the Danish city of Frederikshavn we have designed two new public spaces in the main shopping street, and we are extremely proud of the project and the result.

The project is inspired by the location by the sea and the local surrounding landscape and vegetation. On top of two large wooden decks our project, “Frederikshavn Boardwalk” has multi-functional urban furniture shaped with inspiration from the water and equipped with materials, vegetation and wind shields that fits and protects from the rough environment there. Also, the integrated lighting solution makes it possible for everyone to meet here all year around. We believe that we in the middle of a busy shopping street have created two very attractive new meeting places, where people will get to know each other.
